Union City, CA – Pacific West Gymnastics has hosted its fourth annual fundraiser, known locally as “Barb’s Pink Party,” benefiting HERS Breast Cancer Foundation. The family-friendly event is held each October in memory of Barbara Nicholson, a beloved mom, friend, and Pacific West Gymnastics coach who passed away in 2015 after a five-year battle with breast cancer.

The event included a Tumble-a-Thon, carnival games, food trucks, face painting, and book readings from local author Nina Koch. An ongoing raffle includes prizes such as a Google Home, a Nest Thermostat, Great America Season Passes, a Kindle Fire Tablet, gift baskets from LuLaRoe, LipSense, Usborne Books, Stella & Dot, and more.

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation provides underserved breast cancer survivors with post-surgical products that support their well-being, such as specialty bras, post-surgical garments, wigs, and prosthetics. Just $200 can help change a survivor’s life and provide comfort as she heals.

“Barb’s Pink Party has become an important way for us to raise awareness of the amazing work HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is doing for women,” says Christopher Perkins, Manager at Pacific West Gymnastics. “Through our event and with additional donations from the raffle, Pacific West Gymnastics has a pretty big goal. While originally aiming to raise $15,000 this month for HERS, we’ve already surpassed that goal and are now aiming to raise $18,000.”

Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5 each at Pacific West Gymnastics through October 31 and donations can be made at either Pacific West Gymnastics location or via their website. The raffle prizes will be chosen in early November and announced on Facebook.
