Teams & Competitive Programs
Our team program begins within the Stars Developmental classes: Sparkle Stars, Silver Stars and Shining Stars, for girls ages 4-7. Here, we lay the foundation of strength, flexibility, discipline and strong work ethic that will take our gymnasts through the competitive levels for years to come. Developmental gymnasts train between 3 and 8 hours per week on vault, bars, beam and floor under the guidance of experienced USA Gymnastics certified coaches.
The Pacific West compulsory program takes off in level 3, where gymnasts begin competing in their first local competitions throughout the Bay Area. In this level, gymnasts get to experience the thrill of performing for judges and spectators for the first time as they learn what competitive gymnastics is all about. The compulsory program continues through levels 4 and 5, and gives athletes the opportunity to qualify and compete in the Northern California State Championships each year. Compulsory gymnasts train between 9 and 16 hours per week and compete in 5-6 competitions per season.
Beginning in level 6, the Pacific West optional program gives our athletes the opportunity to compete state-wide, regionally and nationally up through level 10. Pacific West optional team gymnasts have won multiple state, regional and national titles throughout the past 10 years and several PacWest level 10s have gone on to receive NCAA Division I scholarships in gymnastics. Our optional program strives to develop young women of both strong athletic ability and strong character who are successful in and out of the gym. Optional gymnasts train 20 hours per week under the direction of our dedicated and experienced coaches.
TOPs (Talent Opportunity Programs)
The Talent Opportunity Program (TOPs) has been developed by USA Gymnastics to help identify and train the most talented gymnasts in the country through a series of state and national performance tests. The TOPs program is our most rigorous and challenging group designed for gymnasts striving to reach the highest levels of gymnastics. Athletes training TOPs must be under the age of 10 and commit extra time each week to focus on developing exceptional strength and flexibility as well as practicing high level skills at a young age. TOPs is an invite-only program at the coach’s discretion and training is approximately 20 hours per week.
Xcel USA Gymnastics
Our Xcel program offers competitive opportunities in the USA Gymnastics Xcel levels bronze through diamond. Xcel gymnasts compete around the Bay Area as well as in State and Regional competitions. Athletes in the Xcel program train between 6 and 16 hours per week.
