These iconic moments didn’t just earn medals, they changed the sport forever!

Gymnastics is full of amazing routines, but some moments are next level. We compiled some jaw dropping, history making performances that made the whole world pay attention. These five moments show why women’s gymnastics is one of the coolest sports on the planet.

1. Nadia Comăneci’s Perfect 10

Performing in the 1976 Montreal Olympics at just 14 years old, Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci made history as the first gymnast to ever score a perfect 10 on her perfect uneven bars routine.

Before this performance, perfection in the sport was thought of as an idea, not within the realms of possibility. Nadia didn’t only raise the bar, she reset it.

2. Kerri Strug Lands Her Vault on One Foot

In the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, with the U.S. team gold on the line and an injured ankle from her first vault, Kerri Strug pulled through for the U.S. team, sticking her second vault on one foot.

This moment became a national symbol of determinations, sacrifice, and team spirit.

3. Simone Biles Lands “The Biles” on Floor

Simone Biles became the first woman in history to land a triple-double, a triple twisting double tucked salto at the 2019 World Championships. This skill is now officially named “The Biles I”, a skill so difficult it is rarely attempted even in Men’s Gymnastics.

This skill pushed the boundaries of human capabilities and cemented Simone Biles as the greatest gymnast of all time, even the scoring system couldn’t keep up with her.

4. Aly Raisman’s Comeback and Floor Gold

After heartbreak in London, Aly Raisman came back four years later with a vengeance at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She won silver in the all around and gold on floor in the most powerful, emotional routine in her career.

This is a redemption story filled with resilience, poise, and leadership.
