Celebrate your gymnast’s Olympic dreams with a costume that’s fun, empowering, and full of red, white, and blue spirit!

This Halloween, help support your young gymnast show off their love for the sport and their favorite Olympic gymnast! Dressing up as a Team USA gymnast is the perfect mix of practical, sporty, and iconic, it uses some of the gear your child already has, and it makes them feel like a star. Whether they want to channel Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, or another gymnastics legend, here’s everything you need to pull off the look – plus how to find the gear.

1. Navy Blue Track Suit

Every gymnast needs their Team USA warm-up gear, especially since it can get pretty cold out in October. The official U.S. Olympic track suits often is a navy blue zip-up jacket and pants, with white accents or stripes along the sides.

A navy jacket and sweatpants from home can work just fine. You can even DIY the look with an iron-on “USA” patch or some fabric tape stripes. Throw the jacket on over the leotard for the full effect!

2. Leotard

This is an awesome opportunity for your little one to show off their favorite leotard. The leotard is the star of the costume. Team USA leotards typically feature red, white, and blue with stars, stripes or rhinestones! Wear it under the sweat suit so they can stay warm.

3. Sneakers

Olympians walk into the arena in clean, comfy, sporty sneakers. This is a great opportunity for your child to wear their favorite sneakers that will keep them comfy through the Halloween festivities!

4. Hair

Team USA hair is sleek, secure, and performance-ready. A high ponytail or tight bun works best.
Bonus points for a sparkly or patriotic scrunchie, ribbon, or rhinestone clips.

You can also add flair with face stickers like stars, tiny flags, or “USA” tattoos. If your child’s favorite gymnast rocks a signature hair look (like Simone’s slick bun or Jordan’s scrunchie styles), let them lean into it!

5. Gold Medal

It’s not required, but a gold medal takes this costume to the next level. If you have one at home, it will be the perfect addition. No worries if not, you can buy one at a dollar store, print your own, or DIY it with ribbon and a foil-covered cardboard circle.
